The website dotgallery.sk and DOT. Contemporary Art Gallery are operated by ArtRent s. r. o., Jakubovo námestie 2556/3, 811 09 Bratislava – mestská časť Staré Mesto, IČO 50 530 461, Obchodný register Mestského súdu Bratislava III, oddiel: Sro, vložka č. 114504/B, which is the controller of personal data under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Slovak Act No. 18/2018.
Privacy contact: info@dotgallery.sk. We have not appointed a data protection officer as we are not required to.
What we process and why
Visiting the website: our hosting provider technically processes your IP address, browser type and request time (server logs) to run the site and protect it from abuse – legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We use no analytics or advertising tools that track you.
Email: if you write to us (e.g. info@dotgallery.sk), we process your name, email and message to reply – pre-contractual steps or legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
Newsletter (once launched): your email and optionally name, only with your consent confirmed by double opt-in (Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time via the link in every email.
Collectors, clients and artists: data needed for sales, invoices and contracts – performance of a contract and legal obligations, especially accounting and tax (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c)).
Admin access: gallery staff accounts (email, login) to manage content – legitimate interest.
How long we keep data
Server logs: briefly, as set by the hosting provider. Email correspondence: up to 3 years after the last message unless needed longer to exercise legal claims. Newsletter: until you withdraw consent. Accounting records: 10 years as required by law. Admin accounts: while the cooperation lasts.
Recipients and processors
Vercel Inc. (website hosting, USA – EU standard contractual clauses under its data processing addendum); Neon Inc. (content database, servers in the EU – Frankfurt); Active24 (email mailbox); Ecomail.cz s.r.o. (newsletter, Czech Republic – once launched); our accountants and public authorities where required by law.
The map (OpenStreetMap) and Vimeo videos load only after you click. YouTube videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com); the player loads when you scroll to it, and then your IP address is sent to Google, which processes it under its own policies.
We do not sell your data or use it for profiling or automated decision-making.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Just email info@dotgallery.sk; we reply within one month.
You may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority: Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky, Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava 27, dataprotection.gov.sk.
